TotalEnergies Supports L’Escalator, an Incubator That Ties in With the Foundation’s Own Initiatives
L’Escalator is an incubator that was launched by Maurice Lévy, former Chairman of Publicis. What makes it stand out is that it is mainly geared toward young, talented entrepreneurs who are full of ideas and motivation, but don’t have the means or connections needed to develop their project. TotalEnergies decided to partner up with this initiative in line with the Group’s values and TotalEnergies Foundation’s commitment to youth inclusion and education.
L’Escalator’s purpose is to bring together digital start-ups and companies in its inspiring 7,000-square-meter space in the Paris suburb of Levallois-Perret. A group of 20 to 25 start ups will be selected by a tough jury. The lucky winners will receive long-term support and access to equipment, financing, training, coaching and mentoring.
L’Escalator has formed partnerships with several large companies in France, such as Orange, Google, LVMH, L’Oréal and BNP Paribas, which will share their expertise and contacts with the start-ups.
TotalEnergies has decided to join them as it believes that this initiative, based on the power of the collective, will help bring diversity to entrepreneurship, boost the French start-up ecosystem, develop cutting-edge digital solutions and create value. L’Escalator also ties in with TotalEnergies Foundation’s own initiatives, such as L’Industreet, the first campus offering training in the industry professions of tomorrow to 18- to 25-year-olds, regardless of whether or not they have any qualifications. L’Industreet share the same goal as L’Escalator: to combat youth unemployment – a critical challenge during these times of crisis and transformation.
