Helping young people imagine their future through the Action! program

At 13 years old, the world of work may seem light years away, but it’s never too early to start thinking about it. In early 2025, staff from the TotalEnergies Digital Factory presented their work environment to high-school students from priority areas - an initiative deployed as part of the Action! program.

At the end of January, around 15 high-school students from priority areas of the city swapped their schoolbags and lessons for a Digital Factory badge and some inspiring encounters. Every day for a week, they were able to find out about the world of work and imagine themselves in their future working life.

Twenty or so members of staff were involved in welcoming the ninth-graders and giving them advice to help them gain confidence in their potential - a meeting that was as stimulating for the TotalEnergies’ volunteers as it was for the young people themselves.

The initiative took place in the context of the partnership founded in 2018 between TotalEnergies Foundation and the association Crée Ton Avenir (CTA). It is one of the 19 internships organized every year throughout France, with CTA. The association gives young people who do not necessarily have their own network, to experience immersion periods in companies and meet inspiring staff, all with different career paths and backgrounds. A valuable asset for their future professional career.

Action! 3 days per year, for everyone!

The Action! Program gives all members of staff the time and resources to volunteer with public interest organizations who need support, for three working days per year. Thanks to the Action! program, and in resonance with the Company’s citizenship commitment, 24,000 members of staff have volunteered for solidarity missions since 2018 in over 100 countries, completing over 57,000 solidarity actions.
