Sandrine Maisano – Strategy advisor – Fondation La main à la pâte

“Creating partnerships” with TotalEnergies, is “creating partnerships” between stakeholders who are interested in young people.

What’s your commitment to youth?

We endeavor to promote science for everyone. We give training and provide teaching resources to teachers in elementary and high schools throughout France, so that throughout their careers, they can organize scientific activities in the classroom.

What’s your project with TotalEnergies Foundation?

It started with a wonderful project called Le réseau des maisons pour la science (a network of science hubs). The purpose of the project was to create spaces where we could run training courses for teachers, and their are currently 12 sciences hubs in the region. We run courses that enable teachers to organize scientific activities in their elementary and high schools in the different regions of France. We’ve just decided to embark on another four years together, this time for a larger project on the energy transition, where TotalEnergies Foundation is to provide support for training actions and also contribute to producing teaching resources, and even tutorials, as we also run training using an e-learning platform.

Can you sum up “creating partnerships” in a few words?

“Creating partnerships” with TotalEnergies, is “creating partnerships” between stakeholders who are interested in young people. It’s “creating partnerships” with an energy major. To begin with, there’s a financial sponsorship aspect, and that’s completed by skills-based sponsorship, as there are TotalEnergies employees who are drawn into the system with us, either to run training courses, or create some of them, or run site visits. It’s important to us, and all the more so that TotalEnergies Foundation’s sponsorship is a long-standing system.
