L’Industreet, a Campus for the Industry Professions of Tomorrow

Since it first opened at the end of 2020, L’Industreet has been supporting young people in their journey toward professional success through flexible, free training, based on innovative, customized, and practical teaching techniques.

The site, located in Stains in Seine-Saint-Denis, has already trained 900 students aged 18-30, including 300 in 2023 alone. Young women and men, with or without qualifications, from a wide range of socio-cultural backgrounds and different regions of France.

Created by TotalEnergies Foundation, this new-generation campus trains students in highly sought-after industrial professions with fast-developing technical concepts. The aim is to provide young people with a broader skill base to boost their professional inclusion.

Training courses tailored to demand in the industrial sector

L’Industreet currently provides training in 10 highly technical professions in five professional sectors where employability is high: industrial digitization, industrial control and conformity, automated production lines, energy distribution terminals and robot-assisted multi-services.

The campus is particularly aimed at young people seeking a different kind of training to access job opportunities in the industrial sector. Qualifications in hand, students can confidently enter the job market with a set of technical, professional, and soft skills to start out in the world of work.

All the courses are based on alternative teaching methods and immersion periods in companies, and students are qualified on completion of their training. L’Industreet provides global, customized support in the long term, to suit individual needs and provide the know-how and soft skill set required for successful corporate integration.

A campus that opens doors to job opportunities

TotalEnergies Foundation supports this initiative as part of its commitment to young people’s education and inclusion. Statistics show that in France, 7.8% of young people aged 18-24 leave the education system early(1) whereas the overall level of qualifications has increased. At a time when unemployment figures are high, these young people who have few job prospects are subject to insecurity.

And yet there were over 100,000 job vacancies in industry in 2024(2).

L’Industreet’s mission is to reveal potential and provide inroads to professions where the need for skilled workers is high.

L’Industreet welcomes young apprentices from all over France. Since Villastreet opened in early 2024, the campus now provides an accommodation solution for the young people who come to train there. Close to the campus, the residence hall has a shared living area, a laundromat, and 74 studio apartments with fully fitted kitchenettes.

A collaborative approach to ramp up young people’s employability

Since its creation, L’Industreet has been working in partnership with associations from the sectors of inclusion, missions locales, companies and institutional organizations. This collaborative approach guarantees that young people from all over France and its overseas territories have their rightful place here and provides them with possibilities for internships and experience in companies.

In September 2023, L’Industreet signed an agreement with L’Agence De l’Outre-mer pour la Mobilité (LADOM - French Overseas Agency for Mobility), to promote training in industrial professions for young overseas students.

Thanks to the solidarity commitment program, Action!, TotalEnergies’ employees can provide support to L’Industreet students both in defining their academic curriculum and professional career path, and also in their personal development by helping them gain self-confidence and broaden their horizons. L’Industreet also calls on Company employees to participate in selecting students during the affinity test days, or occasionally, to give presentations as part of the curriculum. Over 200 employees have contributed in this way since the campus first opened, an impetus that reflects the Company’s citizenship commitment in favor of young people, especially the most vulnerable.
