Institut du monde arabe / TotalEnergies Corporate Foundation: A partnership of 20 years and renewed support to young people

The Institut du monde arabe and TotalEnergies Corporate Foundation have just renewed their longstanding partnership for another three years (2023-2026). The new agreement focuses on the deployment of mediation schemes and workshops for young people.

Already in 1980, the IMA had made cultural dialogue and the transmission of knowledge its priorities. Values shared by TotalEnergies Corporate Foundation, which since 2003, has been offering its support, mainly as a major sponsor in several exhibitions.

The IMA is also dedicated to a real educational project that carries out initiatives and projects throughout the year in favor of schools and young people supported by socio-cultural associations. All of these actions resonate with the commitment of TotalEnergies Corporate Foundation to promote culture and heritage as sources of open-mindedness and empowerment for young people.

For this reason, as part of the new long-term agreement, TotalEnergies Corporate Foundation would particularly like to mobilize its resources to foster the youth-focused actions of the IMA based on four levers:

  • An artistic and cultural program as a window on the world.
  • The development of mediation actions centered on the exhibitions and their collections.
  • The implementation of cultural and artistic educational projects.
  • The creation of new educational spaces as part of the project to redesign the museum.

One example of note – the Foundation is currently the major sponsor of the exhibition “Parfums d’Orient”. The IMA imagined and designed a number of mediation activities in relation to the exhibition, such as artistic workshops (From perfume to color; Discovering the raw materials of oriental perfumes; Cooking, taste and sense of smell) or a masterclass on the use of leather, aimed at young people in situations of social or educational vulnerability.
