TotalEnergies Foundation is backing the association Prévention Routière (French Road Safety Association) during the rugby World Cup.

From September 8 to October 28, the association Prévention Routière (French Road Safety Association), with support from TotalEnergies Foundation, will be present in the Rugby Villages in Nice and Toulouse, to raise awareness among supporters of the risks of drink-driving, and to encourage safe driving.

Rugby fans are well-known for their post-match enthusiasm and the mixture of euphoria and alcohol can sometimes lead to objectionable behavior that can have dramatic consequences.

That’s why the association Prévention Routière (French Road Safety Association) is setting up stands and organizing events in the Rugby Villages during the 12 French matches in the tournament. The program includes educational workshops on how many units of alcohol there are in different drinks,  interactive quizzes on the effects of drink driving, free breathalyzer tests and measuring glasses, messages broadcast to ask people to self-test and decide on a designated driver who will not drink so that s/he can drive the others home, or to call a taxi.

The aim is clear: to remind fans that drinking and driving do not go well together, and encourage responsible behavior to make sure that the World Cup is a successful celebration.

Through the solidarity commitment program Action!, Company employees will be volunteering on the stands to pass on road safety messages.
